Hi Dallyanusha,

1) Livecache is a special inbuild device in APO which does

speedy operations especially during optimisation and retrives

data quickly from database. For effective functioning of

planning activities, livecache in APO is must.

2) BW in APO serves and stores information on business

master data and transactional data objects and can be

extracted to create various queries and reports. This is

more useful during demand planning

Hi,

APO and Live cache are two different components. Live cache is a huge memory within APO for doing complex calculations.

APO -BW is highly used for APO applications such as Demand Planning, SNP where Characteristics , keyfigures, infocubes etc. are used.

SAP BW is used to store historical data and is used mainly for reporting purpose.

Thanks,

Hi Dallyanusha,

Eventhough both BW and Livecache tools are inbuild

in APO, we need to maintain the relevant settings based

to map our business scenario. ie customisation.

Based on the settings that we maintain, it behaves during

planning. Say for eg, processing of queues via inbound or

outbound is business decision.

Live Cache is used mainly to handle complex algorithum for planning.

BW in APO is inbuilt to APO for storing Historical planning data for quick refrence
