issue with inquiry and quotation

Dear Experts,

this is an issue with my client, i have a a000 material,that customer inqires about this material when material master does not exist in the system, then i have to create material master and do the inquiry, but order is not yet confirmed, if i want to create a material then at least one day is required if it is configurable material master, but i want to send it immedietely because it is just an offer to customer in this scenerio how we can create an inqiry ?

Normally,

Inquiry will be done for the materials which already exists earlier or can be business proposal to start a business with the new product.

In such case, generally we create Inquiry , if material exist then, we maintain the Material no or we just enter the description. later on at the time of releasing quotation to the customer ,then proposed material master record will be created.

In you case, you can maintain text in description column in Inquiry.

Determine Item category AFTX (Text Item) In Inquiry or AGTX in Quotations (Manually or Automatically).
