(CS) Driver not capable

Hi All,

I have some concerns with SAP BI authorizations. I can run a Webi report based on a BW query with my ID (I have BI_ALL authorizations) but when I try to run the report with a standard user who has access to only some companies, I am getting the error "(CS) Driver not capable".

In BW, the user can run the query without any problem.

Thanks

Nargisse

is this resolved ?

Hi Ingo,

Yes, it is fixed.

For our case, it was an authorization issue because it was working for a developer role.

We activated the trace on SAP, run the report and found out that the report is accessing some unauthorized InfoObjects.

After giving the authorizations, it works.

Hi,

- did you configure the SAP authentication on your BOE Server ?

- has the BW query for the universe been configured with Authorization variables ?

- are you using SSO in the Universe connection ?

In terms of error message there is most likely something else that is causing the issue. Did you customize the universe or create new objects manually ?

Yes

Yes

Yes

No

I think it is something linked to the date format. it is only when I bring the Calendar Day Object to my Webi report that I am getting the error. and this only for users with restricted access.

Thanks

Hi,

which version of the BusinessObjects software - including Service Packs and FixPacks - are you using ?

is the Date object a characteristic / keyfigure / variable ?

Hi Ingo,

we are running BusinessObjects XI3.1 SP2 FP3.

The date object is a characteristic.

Thanks

I assume it is a DATS object in BW ?

Hi Ingo,

We are running into the same problem. The WebI report runs successfully with super user ID (who can access all the plants) but when we execute the same report for user A (who's role is imported into CMC and can access a specific plant), we get the 'Driver Not capable' error.

The enviornment is BOE XI3.1 Enterprises SP2 FP2.2, and BW 7.01 EHP1 SP3.

The answers to your questions is same

did you configure the SAP authentication on your BOE Server ?

Yes

has the BW query for the universe been configured with Authorization variables ?

Yes

are you using SSO in the Universe connection ?

Yes

Did you customize the universe or create new objects manually ?

No

How can we resolve this issue?

Thanks,

Ritesh

Concerning the Date Objects, check SAP Note 1407631.

Hi,

the issue on authorization is a different item and I would suggest you open a separate entry in the forum.

Hello,

A user just got this issue. XI3.1 SP2, no authorization variables. SAP autherization set up. Using SSO in universe connection. Created prompts in the universe.

Created a WebI report without getting this error. user trying to run this report and get the error. What is most likely cause?
