Mrp type: VM

Lot size : WB

Service level = 99%

Forecat moduel : J - automatic

History period = 12 month

Forecast period = 12 month

Period indecator = M

Consumption

1.2009 - 22 pcs

2.2009 = 6 pcs

3.2009 - 187 pcs

4.2009 = 5 pcs

5.2009 = 2 pcs

6.2099 = 2 pcs

7.2009 = 42 pcs

8.2009 = 9 pcs

9.2009 = 11 pcs

10.2009 = 2 pcs

11.2009 = 9 pcs

12.2009 = 13 pcs

Lead time = 56 days

After that when I start to create Execute forecat I gut the result :

Saftey stock = 69

Reorder point = 108

MAD = 17

Please can you explain how system calculate the reorder point ans saftey stock according to my example

P.S. I advise that you approach this subject carefully, when you have such a consumption behaviour, and ask for an automatic model selection, and 99% service level!

See also this paragraph from the SAP documentation:

Implementation Considerations

Consumption-based planning procedures are simple materials planning procedures which you can use to achieve set targets with relatively little effort. Therefore, these planning procedures are used in areas without in-house production and/or in production plants for planning both B- and C-parts and operating supplies.

The prerequisites for implementing consumption-based planning are:

· If you use forecast requirements, the consumption pattern should be fairly constant or linear with few irregularities.

· Your Inventory Management must function well and should always be up-to-date.
