the reason is that i userd E60 as SID name.

but according to the installation manual,

the 60 port is used by iSCSI.

so i changed another SID, it works.

Sorry for that caused

Hi,

It seems that installation is unable to create "files"...

Please check if E60ADM, ORAE60 and SapServiceE60 users are member of the Administrators group.

Then retry the installation.

If it doesn't help you, just post the fresh installation logs.

Regards.

Hello Rajesh,

i did as you said to assign user E60ADM and SAPserviceE60 to adminstrator group.

but i can't find the user ORAE60.

please let me describe the error message .

now i execute the 'startup' command to start oracle, system will altert the log

'ORA-00205: error in identifying control file, check alert log for more info'

and i also reviewd the sap installation log file , same log exists.

actually the file should be created when installing SAP automatically rather than manually.

the machine hardware is Windows 2003 Server 32bit, and RAM 16G , Hard Disk 1TB disk array.

i changed the "db_cache_size= 177371824" and "sga_max_size=177371824" parameter in INITE60.ora

it likes OS error. but this is my first installation experince, who would help to find out what 's exactly reason

thanks

Kevin

Hi ,

As this is your first instaIlation i would like to recomend you these points.I am not sure if you are following installation guide before starting the installation. Also you have checked OS & DB combination which supported by SAP ECC2005 SR2.Please check these combinations at service.sap.com/pam.

If you are sure that you have choosen the OS DB which supported by ERP2005 SR2 then please follow installation guide to start with installation.

I hope before starting the installation you have set JAVA_HOME & page memory .After that you have installaed oracle s/w also. Please check with these points if you have done all.If yes then there is no doubt that sapinst will not create your DB.

Thanks..

Hello,

when the 'CREATE DATABASE' command is executed by sapinst, the controlfiles are created according to the value of the Oracle parameter control_files. Therefore, is F:\ORACLE\E60\ORIGLOGA\CNTRL a valid path at all?

Michael

Hello,

you are right, at least on windows, those directories are supposted to be created by sapinst.

When you are doing the installation from scratch, you should find the following entries in sapinst_dev.log (these are the entries from one of my previous installations, so you would have to replace sid and drive).

TRACE 2009-10-25 22:36:10.491

Do you have those entries as well? Please copy them into the post. Of course, in case you have manually changed the control_files parameter after this particular installation step, this change would not be recognised by sapinst and consequently the path will not be created.

Best Regards,

Michael

Are you sure you haven't changed any other parameter like control_files?
