What ia the difference between 'Approved Vendor List' and 'Prefered Vendor List' ?

Hi

Here Approved vendor means like Source List in MM. But where as Preferred vendor means when you(user) creating an order me have chance to select the venodr as his choice, If that vendor is not in the sourlist then that vendor will visible Preferred vendor. So, at the time of approving the cart SPC will validate that.

Thanks for your response.

But, I got a different answer from somewhere else. Please have a look at it. The answer was,

"If ABC is an organization that is using SRM, then it will have some vendors with whom the organization has made contracts via sourcing. Those vendors are called 'Approved Vendors'. while creating a shopping cart, depending on some parameters, Ex. product category, frieght chargees etc... a list of vendors will be proposed as 'Prefered Vendors'. These vendors are the 'Approved Vendors' for those product categories. But all the Prefered Vendors need not to be Approved Vendors."
