Adobe forms

Hi,

Please any one give the detials of adobe forms and why using adobe forms than smart forms . tell the difference detween the adobe and smart forms . and the advantages and disadvantages of smart forms.

Well , As you know Smart Forms Are not portable in the sense that Pdf is a widely accepted standard .. hence vastly more convenient .

Secondly The interactive scenario helps a lot as If u consider a University ..

If the university wants to start a new course and wants to know the student demands ..

all it has to do is just develop an Offline Interactive form and allow the students to edit it and send it back ..

that way forms which were earlier paper based are now made Computer based saving on paper time and data entry person's time .. also considerably speeding up the process ..

Also Digital signatures and such are an added benefit.

Also the Adobe lifecycle designer tool .. (LCD as we refer it here ) is pretty convenient to use along with least amount of programmer effort ..

With so many advantages why would someone want to go for SMARTFORMS ... ?

Hello ananth,

I referred the book Titled , Next Generation Abap from SAP press .... It provides the same example with A DVD rom which has the examples along with the data base structure and all providing a very good insight into Adobe and the NetWeaver components.

Refer chapter 14 for Adobe ..

hi ,

u r link is very usefull but in that there is no advantage of adobe and why v went to adobe forms and show the disadvantage of smart forms .any extra feauthers are having in adobe when comparing to smart forms.

Hi,

There are many new features in Adobe forms like Digital Signatures and RFID tags which according to me are not possible with Smart Forms.

So in effect more UI controls, added features like Password Protecting a PDF file etc etc.

One major difference ( please validate on this ) - Offline Interactive Sceanrio is not possible with Smart Forms.
