SLD and CTS+

Hello,

We will be installing several remote Java-only MII systems soon. We have a central SLD at headquarters. We are planning to use CTS+ to move transports for these systems. The SLD Planning Guide, in section 3.2.1 indicates that SLD is used to define transport targets, at least for PI.

From reading the documentation, I suspect that for Java-only instances, transport routes are maintained in SLD. If SLD is not available, CTS+ for that system will not work.

Is this correct?

Best regards,

Russ

Essentially any CTS+ scenario using NWDI requires SLD

Also if you want to transport PI content an SLD is required

However having checked the documentation there maybe other CTS+ scenarios that do not involve NWDI or PI content

- in these cases SLD may not be required

Best wishes

Hello,

No, what I'm asking is if SLD is unavailable, will CTS+ still work for a JAVA-only system.

Best regards,

No. It needs to fetch the target business system details from SLD itself.

CTS+ is way you transport objects/components/etc...provided both source and target systems are available.

meaning...assuming you are doing regular transport ....you still need source & target systems to be available so it applies to CTS+ also.

I hope this helps you.
