Is Livecache really needed for using APO in SCM 5.0 IDES ?

Hello,

I have a simple question. We are going to do a training on APO using SCM 5.0 IDes system. This installation does not have Livecache istalled. Is it really needed in order to use APO, like planning etc ? I know IDes system has own test data, so to test APO , should be ok without Livecache?

If needed, can you tell me wether is possible to install Livecache in additional on top of SCM.

Hi,

You do need Live cache for SCM IDES system. In layman terms Live cache is the huge memory where large volume of data is available and complex calculations are done.

Without live cache you can not execute any transaction in SCM.

Yes it is possible to install Live cache on top of SCM.
