Hi,
I have a z application which is running fine but except for that not even a single application is running , even the standard applications are not running, only the browser opens and then nothing happens. Please suggest what could be the reason.

Do you wait enough in case the standard application needs compiling?
Check your authorizations.
Activate ICF servicesfor standard WD apps (you should have a specific message in that case but ...)
