RCA Configuration

Hi Experts

I have installed the Solution Manager in a sand box, completed the basic setup using the Solman_setup. Completed the RFC connection. In the process to install the Willy Introscope. Before doing this I like to get a clear steps to proceed in sequence.

Can you guide me what are the next steps required - To configure and implement the RFC- Both from a Basis and SPRO configuration.( Application Consultant)

Appreciate if you can provide me the steps in sequence. and from your experience, if you can share me what are the lessons learnt during the configuration. Any specific precautions i need to take.

We are using SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1. Also if you have a solutioning document which describe the RCA solution, pls share the same.

here goes the seq...

Managing system setup

1) Installation of WIly EM and Management module

2) Activate BI Source system (TRXN: RSA1)

3) see that you haev enough BKG work process for BI reporting

4) Change BI authorization cocept (RSCUSTV23)

5) run diagnostics setup wizard

6) check SMD_ADMIN user role it shd hve admin role

7) check ccmsbi setup job stat7us.... waiut for this job to complete

😎 Advanced setup check for all the information is correft

9) if required setup Help center

Managed system setup

1) define landscape in SMSY (which i assume u hve already done, )

2) Installation of SMD

3) after installation check agent admin for agents running

4) set the parameter icm/HTTP/logging_0 this is required for trace analysis and jstatup/recorder(flight recorder)

5) RUn managed system setup wizard (you will get WIly HOst agent error. After step 7 rerun the wizard error will disappear)

6) Deploy ISAGENT

7) setup Introscope Agents (once done restart the j2ee engine)

Please go through 1010428 before you start teh config.

Hello Bob,

Since you have done with solman_setup most of the work is completed...

you just need to assign Root cause analysis role to ur user for workcenter and follow the step whcih i have mentioned earlier.

for RCA there is BC sets which u need to activate or so....

if u really want to know about SPRO setting go through documents available at

scenario specific setting --> Root cause analysis

Since you have completed solman_setup, I assume that you have completed most of the setting mentioned in SPRO

Dear Bob,

in addition to Shyams reply you might have to check OSS Note 1274287 as you are on Solution Manager 7.1 EHP1.

Additionally you can take a look at the Marketplace for additional information on Willy Introscope setup guide.

Try to read IntroscopeFAQ. from marketplace as well it will give you better idea before proceeding further.

If you have completed solman_setup completely then you are almost 90% done on RCA. Best Luck
