Document change starts automatic distribution

Former Member

Hello, Sirs

I am working on automatic distribution of document after a change in a document.

All customizing steps have been covered and distribution is triggered normally but AFTER a change in the document status. So I am forcing the user to change the status to "In treatment", save it, back to "Released" and save it again, in order to start automatically the distribution.

I would like to know if it is possible to start the distribution for a released document , for instance , after a change in the description or the attached file, but if the status of the document remains unchanged.

Thanks for your help

Dario

Dear Dario,

there is no such automatic distribution functionality in standard function.

for this workflow has to be designed with help of workflow consultant.

if you want to send documents thru standard document distribution functionality then make sure that all the functions in SWU3 are activated.

Maintain Runtime Environment

Maintain Definition Environment

Classify Tasks as General

these are mandatory.

Thank You,

Manoj

As for as I know, in standard DMS, it's not possible. You'll have to go for ABAP development.

Good luck.

Thank for your reply, Amaresh. I think I could use this status change as triggering event so far. However, I found another issue that I would like to enhance.

When making a change in the document status, now I have a partial order in the distribution log (CVI9). But this is not assigned to a package (status MA) until I send it manually. Is there any job or any other way thru customizing for sending automatically these orders (i.e. creating the distribution order ) ??

Thanks again for your help

Thank you again Amaresh.

I have read the documentation, but my only question was related to the paragraph ...."This status (MA: manual) is always set if a distribution order was started by an event from SAP Business Workflow. The person responsible must start the distribution order manually from the Distribution Log. This means that you can check which distribution processes are started. "

That is exactly what I got and I wanted to know if there is any workaround to start the distribution order automatically, once the distribution has been triggered by the event.
