charm configuration

Hi all,

Sorry for the wierd subject. I know that this topic had been discussed several times.

I am on Sol Man 7.0 Ent EHP1 - with the latest supp stack. I have RCA configured.

I want to setup CHARM, CTS+ and Service Desk now. I have tried but did not get a good procedure in doing this. As well, most of the blogs are old. It tells me to activate the BC sets etc which may not be req'd with the Ent version.

Can someone guide me here please. Links or SAP notes, or guides.. any help is appreciated.

Do I have to do both CHARM and Svc Dsk together? Or, can I do CHARM first and then Svc Desk?

Please please help.. I sent a message to SAP asking for proper documentation, and they dont have a proper channel for this..

HI Karen,

Have you executed the tcode Solman_setup after installing/upgradin your solman

this will do the basic configuration then you can proceed with Service desk configuration as guide d by SPRO-Service desk

go thru IMG nodes they are best to understand.

Thereafter

It is recommended to have Service desk first in place than charms

because the charms process starts from the service desk ticket. It is not mandatory and you can have charms also without service desk but you wont get full documentation there.

e.g

if you have implemented charms first then if you want to raise an OSS what you will do if no service desk...therefore i recommend to have service desk first so that all the related OSS message etc will be documented for you

Hope it clarifies your doubt completely

Regards

You can do CHARM first. Service desk is not mandatory prerequisite to CHARM.

Hi Digeshjoshi,

The first link was great to get an overview and to create a project. From the second link it tells me what to do after the CHaRM is setup .. as to send email notifications etc. I checked in rkt-solman as well, but could not find the measures on configuring CHaRM. Any help is highly appreciated. Brief steps or SAP Notes/guides..

I dont find CHaRM in rk-solman, which is wierd.Incident management is pretty covered in there..

Thanks for all ur help.
