Inspection lots for partial gr, and usage decisions before complete GR

Hi All,

I have a business requirement to perform partial goods receipt of a production batch while maintaining a single inspection lot for the entire batch. Therefore n number of partial goods receipt = 1 inspection lot

I have set up an inspection type with the following default setting for the Control of Ins lot: For each order item, batch and storage location. The logic here is to ensure that only a single inspection lot is created when the initial goods receipt is performed and any subsequent goods receipts simply update the actual lot quantity.

In terms of business process the following are the relevant scenarios

1. Inspection lot is created with initial goods receipt, subsequent goods receipts update the actual lot quantity, the usage decision and stock posting are not applied until the goods receipt of entire batch is complete.

2. Inspection lot is created with initial goods receipt, subsequent goods receipts update the actual lot quantity, positive u2018Approveu2019 usage decision and stock posting is applied to the inspection lot before entire batch is goods receipted. Quantities goods receipted after the usage decision are automatically posted to unrestricted stock.

3. Inspection lot is created with initial goods receipt, subsequent goods receipts update the actual lot quantity, negative u2018Rejectu2019 usage decision and stock posting (blocked) is applied to the inspection lot before entire batch is goods receipted. Quantities goods receipted after the u2018Rejectu2019 usage decision create another inspection lot u2013 this is the crux of my query. Is there any way for this scenario that the quantity goods receipted after the u2018Rejectu2019 usage decision can also be automatically posted to u2018Blockedu2019 stock?

No.

If a rejection is expected, the QA person doing the UD should postpone the posting until the entre qty is receipted.

Ideally, if a rejection is expected, the order should be stopped and adjustments made. Then, depending on your configuration for orders, you can receipt in a different batch for the adjusted or fixed material creating a new inspection lot for the hopefully good material.
