Advantages of ATP check on storage location rather than plant

Dear SD Gurus;

What is the advantage of the ATP check based on the storage location in SD module?

What are the customizing steps for this? As long as I know the stpes are

*determine the storage loc in the sales order item level(based on a logic like tvkol table control)

**MRP4 view of material master and put '2'

***OVZ9, no storage loc inspection deactivated

Are there any additioan things for ATP on storage location control in SD module?

Hi,

There is no advantage other than satisfying the business requirements.

In fact the performance of the system may be slightly affected, if ATP check is carried out storage location level.

As far as settings are concerned, what ever you have mentioned is correct.

Hi,

ATP check on storage location level comes in following type of scenario's

Suppose you have 2 storage locations, and u place one material in both this storage location,

now you want to sale this materail only from one storage location,this time ATP check on the basis of strorage location comes in picture.
