SAP PI System copy

Hello,

Suppose I have a PI 7.1 system running on a box and I want exact same system on a new box : Database ,SAP components ,patching level etc,what is the way to achieve this ?

Do I need to install PI again from scratch and do patcxhing on new box or system copy can be done ? what is the best approach if I want exact same system on my new box?.

HI Nitin,

System copy is much easier to be done and takes less time compared to the other.

System Copy does support your requirements

But, You need install DB

You need to export your existing system SDM information

Then install fresh in your target system ....using the exported CI Content.

And post-install steps as usal.

Which will take less time / easier to achieve in terms of complexity : a new install and patching or System copy ?
