Hi,
Did you check the Note 718267. In 6.40 the IGS is not installed in the kernel folder, rather installed in a seperate IGS folder. i.e. usr\sap\SID\DVEBMGS..\IGS folder. Under IGS folder you have different folders conf, bin, data, logs, lib, etc. Uncar the latest patch from the folder usr\sap\SID\DVEBMGS..\ will create the same seet of IGS folders with the new version. Just backup the conf folder before you can update the patch.
Let me know if this helped.

Hi Guys,
I am also trying to install IGS, but cannot find any setup.exe or sapinst.exe in the downloaded software.
Was this problem solved?
Please let me know where/how to solve this.
Kind Regards
Ian

Hi Ian,
Download the igs*.sar from http://service.sap.com/swdc.
You get the executables of the new IGS. These files
already exist in the kernel directory ../SYS/exe/run as
IGS comes with the kernel. Just copy and paste the new
files into the kernel run directory. Then run the report
graphics_igs_chart_test to get the IGS version. Note that
the IGS_RFC should be working. This is the procedure for
700 release and 640 releases where IGSis integrated in
kernel. Else you have setup.exe in the IGS standalone
installation SAR file.

Hi Ian,
If your IGS version is 6.40 and is integrated one, you will not get any .exe files.
You have to uncar the file igs_.sar from folder usr\sap\SID\DVEBMGS\.
This will create IGS folder and subfolders.
You would have a .exe file only in case of standalone IGS.
Refer Note: 718267 and Note 454042 - IGS: Installing and Configuring the IGS

Hi Gurvinder,
At service.sapcom go into
Support Packages and Patches> SAP NetWeaver> SAP NetWeaver components ( < SAP NW 04 )> SAP BW> SAP BW 3.1 CONTENT> Entry by Component>IGS
Then get the IGS 6.40 whcich is the latest and select the correct Operating system--in your case you have 3 choices for Windows at the bottom.
Download it, unpack it and install it. Should be straightforward.

Hi Gurvinder,
Are you trying to install IGS on a Unix server or a Windows server?
If on Unix, then just follow the note 732502 and let me know if you have any questions. If on windows, just download the latest IGS from servicemarketplace and run the exe file.

Cyrus
