Hi!
I am an abap programmer in the field of SEM-Banking. I have no intense experience in installing/maintaining a SAP-system.
To try some ABAP-things out at home I have downloaded the "SAP NetWeaver 7.0 - Trial Version on Linux".
I want to install SAP to the following ubuntu(8)-"server" with 884 MB RAM, 800 MHz AMD Duron CPU and IDE HDD.
Yes, I know that this system does not meet the "minimum requirements" a bit but is there even a chance to get it run on that old machine - of course with (very) heavy performance losses? Does anyone of you actually have SAP running on such poor hardware and can tell me what specific matters I have to mind respectively how poor performance will be?
I want to have your experiences and feedback before I waste my time in something that is doomed to fail from the first beginning.
Thanks for your appreciated experts opinions!

Hi,
I think that your system will be unusable with so few memory.
I would not install a SAP system with less than 2 GB...

Olivier
