Hi,
its regarding the database restore (MS SQL Server2005) from old backup i.e., between different systems.
the issue is the db restore is done successfully on freshly installed system, but the dispatcher is down suddenly when it is started.
are there any pre-configurations to be done before restore the mssql database.
please suggest me with some sap notes.
regards,
prabhu kishore reddy.
Hi please check this [note 1294762|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1294762]. Otherwise post dev_disp and dev_w0, if available.
You can also search the forum for 'systemcopy'. We have discussed similar problems here quite often.

Hello Kishore!
As you have stated that you restored the old DB backup from diffrent system on freshly installed system.
Are you ensure that restored DB backup has the same DB instance, SAP sid and other information as the freshly installed system.
if the above information are not same then your dispatcher will go down after restarting!

Hi,
Please check the
"\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts"
file whether it has correct hostname and IP address entry for your server.
Secondly, Also check
"\windows\system32\drivers\etc\services"
file for correct message server port entry.
I hope, you haven't upgraded your kernel yet...
Regards.
