CUP- Duplicate Emails getting generated when requests are created.

Hi,

When we create new requests in CUP for new user creation, the system generates and sends two emails to the Approving manager.

The first email does not contain any subject or details but has only one hyperlink -View.

The second email has both the subject and details that we have defined and has only one hyperlink- View. The hyperlink for approve and reject do not appear.

How do we stop the duplicate emails from being generated and make the approve and reject hyperlinks appear in the email ?

Andg,

Duplicate E-mail is an issue with requests having multiple paths. It is planned to fixed in SP11.

What configuration settings have you got set up in the CUP workflow nodes?

Are the approvers also the managers of the requestors?

If so, check that you have not got the email reminder settings set to send the Submission and Closing emails to the "Manager" as well.

Also check the Workflow Stage Configuration to check whether you are copying the Manager in on the emails as well as the approvers defined.

To add the accept and reject hyperlinks, you will need to configure the Workflow Stage settings correctly to say that you want that functionality.

As Simon mentioned, these are not duplicate emails. You need to look at your stage level and email submission/reminder settings. Both these emails have different content so they both have different meaning.

To see approve and reject as hyperlinks in the email, go to that particular stage and change the following settings to 'YES'.

1) Approve by email

2) Reject by email
