Hi,

How to identify a system that whether it is a XI system or PI system from the System->Status->SAP component info.

The first release of SAP Exchange Infrastructure was XI 2.0 after that 3.0,7.0 and 7.1.

From release 7.0 onwards SAP Exchange Infrastructure has been renamed as SAP Process Integration (SAP PI).

I am currently working in SAP PI 7.0 so if i check in System->Status->SAP component info it will be SAP NetWeaver 2004s(PI 7.0).If it is SAP Net Weaver 7.1 then also it is a PI system.For rest of the cases it is XI system.

Rgds,

Lekshmi.

Simple way to identify if its XI 3.0, PI 7.0 and PI 7.1

Go to System >> Status

Check the Component Version

If its:

Netweaver 2004 = XI 3.0

Netweaver 2004s = PI 7.0

Netweaver 7.1 = PI 7.1

Hope this answer your question!

Cheers,

In addition to above given things, u can get the system version information using Help -> About in IP or ID.

Hi,

NetWeaver 2004 -> XI 3.0

NetWeaver 2004s -> PI 7.0

NetWeaver 7.1 -> PI 7.1

You could check it in the Integration Builder under Administration.

@Sekhar: The renaming from rep to dir came with PI 7.1 (not with PI 7.0).

Hi All

Thanks a lot.

@Samiullah

Could you please tell me how we are able to see the PI system information from Help->About option

@Patrick

Please tell me how we get the required info from integration builder.

Hi,

in the Integration Builder select the Administration page and you will see for example

> make.rel NW04S_14_REL

In this example NetWeaver04s what means that is a PI 7.0 system (SP 14).

In PI 7.1 it will look like:

> Make Release NW07

@Sekhar: Maybe it was a too nitpicking from me In fact I liked your creative idea to use this difference for the version distinction.

Hi,

In simple terms if it is veersion 3.0 then it is XI if it is 7.0 or greater then PI...

The other way of looking at is ....

With XI, we used to access the default Java page URL using

http://<XI System>:<http port>/rep/start/index.jsp

Now with PI

http://<XI System>:<http port>/dir/start/index.jsp

And, Integration Repository has been appearing as

Enterprise Service Repository

Service Repository

And, You always see now as Process Integration rather Exchange Infrastructure in all Java pages of PI

These are few on top of my head now...send you as i recollect
