Hi,
How to identify a system that whether it is a XI system or PI system from the System->Status->SAP component info.
The first release of SAP Exchange Infrastructure was XI 2.0 after that 3.0,7.0 and 7.1.
From release 7.0 onwards SAP Exchange Infrastructure has been renamed as SAP Process Integration (SAP PI).
I am currently working in SAP PI 7.0 so if i check in System->Status->SAP component info it will be SAP NetWeaver 2004s(PI 7.0).If it is SAP Net Weaver 7.1 then also it is a PI system.For rest of the cases it is XI system.

Lekshmi.

Simple way to identify if its XI 3.0, PI 7.0 and PI 7.1
Go to System >> Status
Check the Component Version
If its:
Netweaver 2004 = XI 3.0
Netweaver 2004s = PI 7.0
Netweaver 7.1 = PI 7.1
Hope this answer your question!
Cheers,
R-jay

In addition to above given things, u can get the system version information using Help -> About in IP or ID.

Hi,
NetWeaver 2004 -> XI 3.0
NetWeaver 2004s -> PI 7.0
NetWeaver 7.1 -> PI 7.1
You could check it in the Integration Builder under Administration.
@Sekhar: The renaming from rep to dir came with PI 7.1 (not with PI 7.0).

The other way of looking at is ....
With XI, we used to access the default Java page URL using
http://<XI System>:<http port>/rep/start/index.jsp
Now with PI
http://<XI System>:<http port>/dir/start/index.jsp
And, Integration Repository has been appearing as
Enterprise Service Repository
Service Repository
And, You always see now as Process Integration rather Exchange Infrastructure in all Java pages of PI
These are few on top of my head now...send you as i recollect

Sekhar
