Now i wanna consolidate the data in the mat. repository.

Hi Ashish,

Consolidation is eleminating the duplicates based on certain criterias.

Consolidation of master data can be done in 2 places.

1. MDM Import Manager , while importing the data.

2. MDM Data Manager, where in you can search and eliminate duplicates.

In your case, lets say you are importing data from multiple source systems.

Source System 1 has data some thing like

M01 Material 01 ...

M02 Material 02 ...

...

Source System 2 has data some thing like

M04 Material 01 ...

M05 Materila 05 ...

...

While importing the data using import manager, under Match records tab u specify the material description as the match type. Import the data.

When you open the MDM Data manager you see only 3 records, instead of 4. Because you did eliminate the duplicate by selecting the Material description as the Match criteria.

Hope this helps.

Hi Ashish

Let me explain you the steps involved in Importing the data.

<b>2) how to do the data loading in sap MDM import manager</b>

1. Get ready with the R/3 data or (which needs to be transferred to MDM) for ex: Excel,Access,SQL....

2. Launch the Import manager application with appropriate server and Repository.

3. Specify the following parameters:

TYPE:XML Schema or EXCEL or ACCESS...

Client system : R/3 system instance or BW or MDM

XML SCHEMA: Name of the XML schema available in the

console

File PATH : Specify the source file.

4. Once Source data imported into Import Manager apply the corresponding map (already imported and saved) to the source record and perform the match record tab actions and finally execute the Import.

5. Check the records imported successfully, in the MDM DataManager(client).

Hope this helps.

<b>

1) How to do the sap MDM consolidation</b>

This can be done at MDM DataManager level, kindly add more on your requirement; what exactly you want to perform on this....

Thanks

Hi Ashish

The link given by subbu got excellent information to know about Consolidation.

Still let me explain the major process involved in this Consolidations:

1. Basically extract the informations from the source system which you really feel to be consolidated.

2. Import the same information(MDM acceptable format) into MDM repostiory using MDM Import Manager component.

3. In the MDM DataManager(Client), do all the manipulations like Match,Merge,Update and so on to the imported record from the source.

4. Again revert back those information back to the source system with help of MDM Syndicator component.

Hope this helps...

thanks

Alexander
