Hi Experts,

My client want sample to be calculated on basis of inspection lot.

For example if inspection lot having 100 and less then 500 quantity then sample should 50 %

if quantity is 500 and less then 1000 then 10 %.

We are using MIC .

How can this be achieved in QM . Please give me detail for creating master data for this.

Hi

If you go by sampling procedure with sampling type as "sampling scheme" then

you can no specifiy percenatge as a sample Qty.

If you go by sampling procedure with sampling type as percentage sampling ,then you can not have sample range for the same like 100 to 500.

You have to sacrifice one for the other.

Hi

What will i specify if i cannot specify percentage and how ?

lets say that you split the lot size & specify the Sampling table in sampling scheme as

Inspection lot sample size

-

-

100 10

200 50

300 150

400 200

500 250

600 275

etc

now in the task list use the sampling procedure aginst char (this sampling procedure must be of sampling type: sampling scheme)

Thanks again.

You mean in QDP1 in field ,lot size = 100(Inspection lot size) sample size = 10 (Percentage of sample ) then what is use of k factor

This mean when lot size is 100 then 10 number of qunatity will be inspected .

Have i undertood both the value correctly.

Yes ....perfectly

upto 100 lot size sample size will be 10

then form 101 to 200 it will be say 20 etc etc

K factor you can put as 1.0 or depending on requirement .

Hi

If you are using veriable inspection then system will ask "K" factor.

this is nothing but the factor which will tell you that out of 100 even if this much sample are rejected still lot found to be accepted.

So it will only use for valuation perpose depending upon the number of defects found.

if you keep this one will not affect as out of lot of 100 if 1 sample is rejected then also lot is found to be accepted. This is valuation of the char & not the lot.You can change this valuation dynamically/manually also.
