Username administrator.
But i cant login.
I installed sneak preview?
How can i find whats wrong
Is it hte host or port no ?
or is it that service is down?
Is there any other way?
George
I tried both the ports of piyush and jawahar .
It gives error
"Unable to look connection paramters for localhost: <Portno>

Is some service disabled or some setting wrong?

The port no seems to be the prob.
It cannot find the host..
The instance no is 00 But Hpow do i check what port is assigned?
It gives same message when i give localhost and port 50004
If its the prob with password,it would have given nvalid password right?
This seem to be something else like no port or port not active
Direct connection Workedddddddd
But is there any way to configure Look up via message server???
Why doesnt it work .Is it coz its same machine....
AK gets full point...

1.The port value is a number over 50000
2.For each cluster element the ports begin with 50000+100*instance_number, where instance_number is a two digit number from 00 to 99 specifying the number of central instance and dialog instances.
You can see the instance number from the directory, where the J2EE Engine is installed. Under /usr/sap/<SID>, there is a directory which name contains the instance name including the instance number, for example, JC40 (where 40 is the instance number).

Hi George,
Go to visual Admin. CLick on 'New'.
1.Enter a display name(Anything you like).
2.Lookup connectionvia message Server
3.Username: admin
4.host:50004
5.Trasport layer: default
This will create a new connetion for user 'admin'.
Don't forget to use default password 'admin', incase you have not changed it.
Hope it works for you.
If you have changed and forgot then let me know.
Regards,
Daman.

Hi,
Start the Visual Administrator by executing <SAPJ2EEEngine_installation>\j2ee\admin\go.bat.
Default port is : 50004 (The following convention applies for the port: 5<J2EEinstance_number>04)
default user name & pwd : admin/admin

Hi George,
Is your portal running ? Which sneak preview have you chosen? You can check this by opening SAP MMC and if everything is green then it means portal is running.
Also check the name of your host on computer properties and use that.
By default Administration port is 50104 (I have Sneak Preview 2004s Java Full version edition and it's automatically configured to 50104) and the default password for Administrator is abcd1234(Sneak Preview 2004s Java Full version edition).
Check these things out and let me know if you still face the problem.
regards,
piyush
