Copy client 001 of Solman 4.0

I noticed in the installation guide for solution manager 4.0, they give you the option of either using client 001 as production or copying it. If you copy it, is it a good idea to also point the JAVA UME to this client instead of 001?

What if you dont, is there any SMD or config in solman that will be a problem?

Thanks

Hi AlMahdi,

Could you tell me when your solman system was installed?

I am asking you this because if you installed a SOLMAN 4.0, not a

SOLMAN 4.0 SR1, at this point of time the correct way to generate

the client was:

"Copy the client with transaction SCCL and profile SAP_CUST.

The following procedure describes how to perform a client copy manually.

We recommend that you use client 001 as source client"

(from SAP Solution Manager 4.0 on Windows, April 2006 Doc. version v1.0)

At this point of time no SPRO activity appears indicating how to copy

the client, so profile SAP_CUST and from client 001 source).

SAP Solution Manager 4.0 SR1 on Windows installation guide, Sep 2006

the client copy section not appears because this action has been

included in the spro:

Source: Client 000

Source User: Client 001

Profile : SAP_ALL

Hope this helps,

Dolores

It is stated directly in the installation guide for solution manager 4.0, you can use 001 as your productive client. I agree with you as in 3.2 you DID have to copy this.

Question: Do you need to make any settings to the J2EE add in if you do this.

Thanks
