hi,

sap not start that the oracle not start.

alert.log;

trace:

pmon not start

1) Did you try starting the DB from SQLPLUS as orasid?.

2) After peforming the install/upgrade of oracle,as part of the upgrade/install you should apply all the necessary opatches .opatches are very critical and our helpful in resolving several critical bugs.It is a must inorder to have your DB running smooth.

go to service.sap.com ->downloads->DB Pactches ->Oracle ->yourversion->opatches

and download the list of opatches for your DB and OS and apply it

Check SAPnot 839182 to know how to install opatches.

I think some of processes hung and shouldn't get released.

kill all the oracle processes from OS level and restart....then SAP

I think its perminission peoblems on files.

Check the permissions of ORACLE_HOME...

Also check if there is any more error information.

With which user are you trying to start DB and SAP?
