Steps to configure RCA and Monitoring in SolMan

Hello Experts:

I need some help on this. For now I have installed solman / windows / oracle 10g on VM.

I need to add the satellite system in Solman and need to install CCMS Agent in the satellite system.

I want to enable to use my Alert monitor in solman to check out alerts from the satellite system.

what do I need to do next to integrate this with solution manager?

I need to know how to proceed.

Please provide the answer with the steps that will be highly appreciated.

Hi,

To add system to solman:

Go to SMSY and define:

1) Server --> host name, IP etc

2) DB --> DB details

3) System --> R3, Netweaever etc, assign proper components, products

4) define and assign logical components for the system defined in step 3

5) generate RFC destionation to the satellite system

6) Provided you have the necessary trusted authorization and if the RFCs are generated successfully then your task is done. Else you'll have to troubleshoot.

Once this is done, you need to goto SOLUTION_MANAGER and define

1) new solution

2) make necessary inclusion in Solution Landscape Maintenance

3) include logical component

This completes the system setup for you.

Hi,

Are you trying to use solman as central monitoring tool ?

Setting solman as central monitoring tool is simillar to setting any other systems, using RZ21

If you are looking for central system administration (CSA), you can set System Monitoring /System Adminstration from trxn: dswp

-->Operations setup --> Solution Monitoring --> System Monitoring /System Adminstration --> Setup........
