what are the NWDS settings for quick par upload?

I have the NW04s ful java preview installed. I am runnig the portal fine from the URL http://localhost:50100/irj/portal.

I have set up NWDS for quick par upload by entering the following values:

host: localhost (or 10.10.0.10)

port:50100

login: Administrator

I get the error: "make sure the server is running or check the log (sap-plugin.log) for more info."

can anybody help me?

Hi Umesh, hi Armando,

do you use a proxy on your network? Then please check your NWDS proxy settings in

Windows -> Preferences -> Workspace -> Proxy Settings

They are different from your IE settings. I had the same error and went crazy when searching for the problem until i found it here.

Can you fix that problem?, 'cause I get the same error and inspecting the sap-plugin.log the error is because a null password parameter was sent to host, I don't get the NWDS asking me for that password and i don't find the place to set it.

Hi

Looks like your portal server is not reachable from your network.

1)Make sure that your portal user has enough privilage(Developer Role) to deploy PAR file.

2)Make sure that the EP server is reachable from your PC.

3)In the NWDS , open EP perspective, then:

a)Right click on your project

b)Select 'Export'

c)Select PAR file option

d)And click on Next until you reach the Deployment config page.

e)Select the ckeckbox (Deploy PAR)which will give you the server config options.

f)Do the necessary configurations by clicking 'Configure Server Settings...' (host name, alias, user name, port)

g)Enter password

h)Deploy and test your portal component !!

Hi

You can try this

Login to Portal using Administrator id or any account having super_admin role.(admin /admin)

Navigate through System Administrator>>Support>>Portal runtime>>"Portal Anywhere" Admin Tools>>Administrator Console

You will see a link for uploadin the par file from there

yes, I know this option works, but I am looking to use NWDS for deploying par files and I need the config for NWDS.

Hi you can open our NWDS application.

File->Import

here you have options for as Par file & zip file

you can select either of them depending on whether you have a par file direct or par in ur zip.

for Config of NWDS

you need to click menu.

Windows->preferences->

slect SAP J2ee Engine: slect the frst radio buttun and enter your Message server host & Port.

Hi Kirk

perform plugin setup under NWDS.

Window->Customize Perspective

Open the node Other by clicking on the + icon and activate SAP Portal Actions.
