Hi all,
We have ECC 5.0 Non-Unicode system with Oracle as Database.
We have Win2k3 OS with 4GB RAM, virtual memory set as 12 GB. our Database size is about 83 GB.
We want to perform a Non-Unicode to Unicode conversion.
We have done the export, after export we checked the export directory it got filled 4.83GB only.
Generally how much GB we should get is there any calculation.
Shell we continue further steps
Please advice me.
Regards,
Souren

How did you do your export, sapinst/R3load or exp(not supported)?
Usually the export is around 10-15% of the used space in the database.
Cheers Michael
Edit: you should do a test import to a non productive system to test it.

Hi,
Our total DB size is 83 GB with around 49 GB has already been used.
According to you the export file size should be around you 5 GB whereas we have 4.8 GB.
Is that ok?
Is there any other way to confirm without importing the export file into the system?
By the way we have used sapinst/R3load for the export/system copy.

Souren

Hi
Try to export something much smaller (a schema or some objects that you know
for sure how big they are) and see what's the dump size then.
Do it with another object or schema which is different in size and look at
the same thing.
In the end, you may have an idea how much it will be take for your requirement
regards
Shan.
