Transport from Development to Qualtiy

Former Member

Hi,

Could anyone let me know the steps that needs to be followed while transporting the objects from Development to Qualtiy.

We are using PI 7.1

I had followed these steps:

In the Enterprise Service Builder --> Tools ---> Export Design Objects ---> I gave the software component version, Mode (specified as Transport using CTS) and then selected all the objects that needs to be moved to Quality.

then i checked in the Transport Organizer and this request was present.

So in SAP logon for Development PI i gave SE10 and released the requests.

But then how to import these items which i released in development.

Could anyone let me know the step by step process required to move the objects from dev to Quality

Thanks.

Hi

To import the file(s) to an ES Repository,

Call the ES Builder of the target repository. http:///xi/repository_server/importedFiles.

Hi,

Search could have provided more results...

but the process is as follows

1. Export the products and SWCV from your Dev SLD and import the same in QA SLD.

2. Export the Technical system and Business systems and import the same in QA SLD.

3. Need to export the ESR objects as you done using CTS then need to open the Transport Workbench screen(name not sure..but

can be found in ESR tools->Find transports and click on the Tranport number->will take you to the workbench screen)

There need to release the TR created...

4. Once released go to the QA SAP GUI then STMS and adjust the import option for the transport and once done need to import the same in the QA.

5. For ID please ensure proper groups and targets for business systems are created in the SLD....

Hi,

Please post the complete transport log. There might be many reasons for return code 12.

Hi,

Once you are in the Import log screen. Click on any of the canceled (12) line and click Goto -> Display Log.

Check the log, there you should get a hint of why the transport is cancelled. If you unable to solve, then paste the same.

Cheers...,

Hi Raghu,

The error is below:

It is failing b'cos of the communication channel CC_POS_EX_RCV.

But I am not sure why it is failing, since the related scenario works fine.

In the Quality server have you defined the Business System (same as it is in Dev)? you need to do this if the SLD is different for Dev and Quality.

In the CTS+ guide(available on SDN) they have mentioned a demo transport scenario, if you have any doubt on how to transport then do refer that guide.

Abhishek.

Hi Abhishek,

We are using Centralised SLD , so business systems is already existing there for QA

Hi,

You have to condigure transport groups and transport targets.

Please check below threads.

Hi,

Check the required technical system and business systems are exported and available in the target environment...

if not first export them into the target environment and then do the transport again...
