Dear SAP experts
I am trying to solve for the customer the recent Dialog WP usage bottleneck which happened frequently lately (during year-end period).
We would like to collect the data on usage tendency of (Dialog) Work processes on the system at a span of time.
We are thinking of writing the script (maybe with dpmon).
However, is there any (performance data collection related) tools that we can use to collect such data without manually generating one for ourself?
Regards,
huihui
Hi Thanks for the suggestions.
However, what the customer wants to know is something like : number of Dialog WP being used at certain time or output result of comamnd: dpmon (see below) vs a span of time to know the exact details of its usage.
Workprocess Table
=================
No Ty. Pid Status Cause Start Err Sem CPU Time Program Cl User

1 DIA 17082 Stop ENQ yes 0 0 4997SAPLSENA 829 H100100037
............
Is this possible?

Hello,
You can also try ST03N which will give you the usage of Memory, dailog step, etc of any work process in the system.
Using ST03N analysis you can find which program caused the bottleneck as well as the memory used by them.
You can also use ST02, ST06, ST04 tcodes for more details in buffer level, OS level and DB level.

One very simple and basic method is to use SM50, then click on the little clock icon. This will show an additional column with the cpu usage of each work process.
