Hello everyone,
Looks like I can sell "SCRAP" materials out of SD as well as FI module. I can create a material for Scrap and then sell it via SD module. Or can create a FI transaction directly from FI module. What is the best method to handle ?
Can you tell me pro / cons in either cases ?
Thanks,
Dipankar Biswas
Hi
SD path is good. so that you can track the how much sales you have done to customers etc. Pricing agreements etc
Good reporting strucutre are in place.
Also you can have agreements with the customers and follow the release orders to lift the scrap materials
with in stipulated time frame.

Ramana

Hi,
If you're in the business of selling scrap, i agree with SD. But if you're simply disposing scrap for its residual value, then i guess MM and FI will suffice.

Hi
I suggest SD path to sell the scrap material
1. You will have a control on the inventory.
2. Billing price will be appear in the billing through condition records without manual entries
3. TCS will be charged against the customer at the time of Billing
4.Invoice Printing can be done as per the company format.

You should sell Scrap Material through SD Process as it would be helpful to trace the data through Reports also i.e. how much has been sold through Plant , Shipping Point , Material Type & so on.
Better it is to go through SD process.
