Hi Experts,
I am new to knowing SAP Netweaver. I would like to clarify a few questions from experts like you,
1. Does Netweaver license come free of cost with SAP R3 Licenses ?
2. If not, what would be the approximate license cost of Netweaver?
3. Does Netweaver 7.1 come with built in SAP Mobile Infrastructure ?
Help needed pls.
Thanks & Regards
Deepak Gridhar
Hi Deepak,
I think that you need seperate license for Netweaver but cost am not sure.
Netweaver Mobile comes part of Netweaver stack , hence no seperate license for Mobile alone.
and further pricing is based on the number of backend users who will be using the mobile app is what I understand.
NW mobile 7.1 (the previous version was named as Mobile Infrastructure(MI) )could be used to build mobile applications suiting offline and onlines scenarios.
In few words to mobilize enterprise solutions
SAP R/3 will act as backend
--->talks to DOE (Data Orchestration Engine) through remote enabled BAPI Wrappers
NW mobile will be middleware that does the data orchestration
-
>exchanges data with mobile device Upon Synchronization with DOE using a messaging protocol over http(s)
Receivers could be devices with client application installed / another server itself.
Netweaver mobile constitutes of server (DOE) comes part of ABAP AS and a default client framework (Netweaver mobile client) which is a seperate installable on the device comes with a java stack.
Mobile application could be created using NetweaverDeveloper Studio(NWDS) that will present the data required by the mobile device user.
