This error occurs on two different Windows 2003 servers with GUI version 7.10. Both of these servers were previously at patch level 6. Updating from 6 to 15 failed. Updating from 6 to 14 failed. I tried completely removing the installation server and reinstalling, only to get the same error. Any ideas?

As a work around ,

Just get the extracted patch from temp directory . Now , open the setup folder in extracted patch to find <NwUpdateInstServer> , try to run it . it will ask you the location of your installation server and will update it .

Once successfully updated , you can re-run your installation server again .

Please check : you should only run the <NwUpdateInstServer> avilaible inside patch .

Hello

please use the latest compilation 4 CD to set up the installation server!

The compilation 4 CD is downloadable in the SAP Marketplace:

http:service.sap.com/installations

For the migration of your OLD OWN packages into the new Intsllation server, please pay

attention the note #1266552!

If this problem still exist on your server FMDC1

please open an OSS Message in BC-FES-INS!

Best Regards

Sven

maybe your package is corrupted.

I would re-download SAPGUI 7.10 and its patches and try again.

or... check if patch 5 does the same thing. maybe it's a problem with patch 6.
