Mass Upload of RFx

Hi All

We are working on SAP E sourcing 5.1. We are trying to mass upload RFXs into the system.

I would like to know whether there are standard excel template available to mass upload RFXs into the system similar to contracts.

Thanks

Tripti

Hi Tripti

The mass upload templates are available only for Contracts and Clauses, since it helps take in the legacy contract information from some other disparate source prior to implementation.

RFx is an event driven initiative.

You can create this template only if you are looking at migrating your existing RFX's from some other system into SAP ES.

You have the mass line item import functionality in the RFx but there is no definitive template for RFx mass import workbook.

You can probably design one on the same lines as a Contract.

Thanks Tridip,

In addition, Once the RFX is open for response, the supplier should be able to export the set of questions as xls/pdf, fill it & then import back to the system.

This functionality seems to be currently missing. Is there any workaround available?

Thanks again for your expertise.

Hi Tripti,

You are right, there is no functionality on the Supplier side to download the the questions as a XLS, fill it and upload it.

The possible work-around is

1) Download the mass upload questions template (template.csv) logged in as the buyer in the RFx.

2) Attach the template in the attachments section in the RFx

3) Vendor downloads the attachment and fills in the questions from the RFx

4) Buyer imports that as questions template from the RFx response received from Vendor.

But in this case, the scoring feature that comes as a default on the buy side might not work as expected.

You need to try it out and see whether the questions after import are actually scorable.

Let us all know, if it worked

Hi Tridip

Thanks for your valuable inputs.the only problem with this workaround is it might not be desirable for suppliers to send their responses in an excel sheet format leaving it to the buyer to upload this into the system.

The reason for me asking the question for download/upload feature of RFx (typically in the form of an excel sheet) at suppliers end is that at a time multiple people from supplier side might be required to work on an RFx. For e.g. at the buyers end we add multiple collaborators to work on RFx document. Similar should be the case at supplier's end.

There is an option available for download/ upload of RFx in PDF format. Similarly if we have excel based upload/ download possible it would solve the issue. Any idea whether this feature would be available in future versions of e sourcing.

Many thanks

Hi Tripti,

SAP E-Sourcing 6.0 release will be on-demand only, no on-premise verison available, I dont think that this feature is available in the SAP E-Sourcing 7.0 release in 2011 also, since it is a feature similar to templatization and collaboration on the Sell side

You can contact SAP E-Sourcing Solution management team Steven or Rosemary to get an update on your requirement.

You'd get first hand information on the future functionalities.
