Hi Friends,
I have scenario like File-to-IDoc for SAP R/3 and MDM integration using SAP XI. I syndicated the data from SAP MDM to SAP R/3, then SAP generates Internal number for Vendor or Material if we have setting like INTERNAL NUMBER GENERATION, so we need to response back to SAP MDM with that Vendor number.
I want to synchronous the SAP R/3 generated INTERNAL NUMBER to SAP MDM, if the R/3 has the option as INTERNAL NUMBER GENERATION for master data (like Vendor, Customer and Material)
Could you please share your experience?
Sincerely, Bala
Hi Rajiv,
I dont think this is the correct forum to help you out with a proposal for MDM.
cheers,

Hi,
if you won't find any stadard way to handle
INTERNAL NUMBER you can wrap up the IDOC FM module
that creates the objects that you want to use
(like IDOC_INPUT_CREDITOR for vendor)
in a sync FM (those modules almost always
return the generated object number so you can get
it and return to MDM)
this is not a very pretty solution but it should work
you can also try using function modules
that the IDOC_ fucntion modules use inside
but beware these are not bapis,
so thier interface is not unchangeable
