Experts,

I have installed SMD Agent on one of the servers. It was running fine. but one fine day, SMD Agent got stopped.

I have tried to start SMD Agent using the script ./smdstart.sh

I am getting the below error message:

[-] Launching SAP HOST CONTROL ...

-

ok.

Cannot create Lock File. ("sapstart.sem" Invalid file system control data detected)

(4247688) Exiting with Return-Code -103. (Access permission denied)

Can anyone tell me what might be the issue?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Karthick Eswaran

Hi,

Since you are using SMDadm user and also you have given 777 permission.

I recommend u to check the script.

sometimes if variable $LOGNAME or $USER is maintained wrongly, script fails.

also check to be on saferside...(clear memory and try starting)

2033 Startup fails, sapstart.sem, startsap, sapstart

Hi,

Make sure you have logged in as SMDADM user before you run the script.

Let us know the result.

Hi All,

I have given 777 permission to all files an folders under SMD instance.

I tried to run the script using SMDADM user only.

HI,

Can you send us the file permissions on the scripts and script files under SMD/exe/?

Try running the same from exe directory.

Thanks,

Pradeep

It looks like File permission for user under which SMD Agent runs has been changed. It is not allowing to create a file in directory.

Please check file permission.
