Dear Sir,
I was going thru the help.sap documentation related to APO ( PP/DS ) for "Project Manufacturing & Make-To-Order Manufacturing" .
In the documentation a following line is mentioned :
"In Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS), you can plan multi-level networks of orders for sales orders and project orders. "
Sir, I am confused with the terminology "multi-level networks of orders for sales orders and project orders" .
I request SAP experts to kindly guide me as what is all about "multi-level networks of orders for sales orders and project orders" . Also pl give some insight as how these multi-level networks of orders are created and what is benfit of using them .
I will be highly oblized for the kind help pl .
Rgds
Sonia
Hi Sonia,
An order contains item or items that are linked with Multilevel network
containing a finished product, intermediate, raw materials, semi-finished
products, etc., which are contaiining in the bill of materials.
A semi finished product again inturn itself contains various raw materials and
items that are required for producing that. And this chain keeps going on to
form a multilevel network.
When a sales order or a project order is placed in system, against the order,
the entire network family has to be planed in system.
