Hi Friends,
I am planning to do a Client Export & Import from production to developement.
SAP Version : ECC6
Database : Oracle 10g
Operating System : Win2003 x64
I need few clarification regarding Client Export & Import
- I have 45GB datas in my Production Client, how many hours it will take to complete export cycle.
- How to import the production datas in developement.
Thanks in advance

Hi Karthickbabu,
I have 45GB datas in my Production Client, how many hours it will take to complete export cycle
Cant tell exactly, its depends on your physical memory, I/O etc.,
Let me tell one example: If you have 2GB RAM, you can expect 20GB of data export per hour.
So, in your case its consumes approximately two and half hours.
How to import the production datas in developement.
As Markus suggested, you can follow above link.
Logon to target client -- execute SCC8 -- select the profile -- execute in background (immediately)
Thanks & Regards,
Nagendra.

My Production Server I/O Details
Processor : Intel Xeon Quad Core 2.33Ghz - 2 Nos
Ram : 18GB DDR2
Storage : 1TB
Lan : 1Gbps
My Developemt Server Details
Processor : Intel Xeon Quad Core 2.33Ghz - 1Nos
Ram : 8GB DDR2
Storage : 800GB
Lan : 1Gbps
I need a time duration for client export to get a down time for production server.
Thanks in advance,

Read again what we wrote and read the online help - nobody will be able to tell you how long this will take. This depends to 95 % on the speed of your database and I/O system.
Why not just start an export now, check the runtime, delete it and then create it again on a downtime? Then you will know exactly how long it will take.

How fast is your I/O subsystem?
