Hi, we do periodic inspection for all the materials stored in stores for every 6 months. Please advise what are the steps involved in mapping this in qm?

Dears, I observed that "the next insp date field (in ud) and the qa07 t-codes" are properly functioning only if we activate batch management. otherwise it is not working. please advise is there any method?

Hi Yadav,

In the prerequisites of recurring inspection,it is clearly mentioned that the material should be batch managed. So you have to manage it in batches.

Prerequisites

The system creates inspection lots automatically for recurring inspections if the following conditions have been met:

Each material to be inspected is defined as a batch material in the material master

An inspection interval is specified in the Quality Management view of the material master

An inspection type is active for inspection lot origin 09 in the inspection settings of the material master

The inspection settings in the material master specify an inspection using a task list or material specification (if you want to record results for inspection characteristics)

A Next inspection date is specified for the batch in the batch master

If you intend to trigger a recurring inspection manually, you have defined your parameters for the recurring inspection in the corresponding report

If you want the system to trigger a recurring inspection automatically, you have:

Defined your parameters in the report program for a recurring inspection

Saved the report as a variant

Planned the variant as a background job

Dear Yadav

This is where recurring inspection(09) comes into place. For this find the following setting

1) Activate inspection type 09 in the material master

2) Maintain inspection interval of 6 months in the QM view

3) When UD is given for the inspection lot for the first time system automaticaly updates the next inspection date

4) You will have run QA07 or schedule it in QA05. In this maintain the materail, plant and run using one of the option and opening period which is intial run days

Inspection lot will created with 09 type. When the UD for this lot is given system automaticaly updates the Next inspection date.

For batch managed materials this inspection is more effective

please check and revert back
