inspection points

Hi, Pls advise what is the function of insp points? what is the importance of insp points in "qm settings at plant level", routing header also there is insp point field? please advise how they effect?

Inspection points is an identifiable record of inspection results that is assigned to a work or inspection operation. Several inspection points can be assigned to an inspection operation.

The inspection points are identified by the user by a combination of fields, whose meaning is defined based on their usage. inspection points are used for result recording based on time, quatity and to identify any event,time , date, inspector name etc

There are some operation that can take several days. A sample is taken on an hourly basis (a time-based inspection interval, interval = 1 hour). By maintaining inspection point in the routing or inspection plan we can go on recording results based on time for hourly basis. at the same time we can identify the vessel number, shift , time, inspector name. There are different inspection point available for usage.
