SAP Content Server 6.40 on Windows 2003, IIS 6, filesystem storage

Hello:

We have installed SAP Content Sever 6.40 on Windows Server 2003, IIS 6, and using the filesystem as storage, not SAPDB.

The installation goes without any issues and completes successfully, but the test URL http://<host>:<port>/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo returns "The page cannot be displayed" and not the expected system info/status. We need to fix this before moving on to config in ERP, any suggestions into Content Server or IIS settings/configuration is appreciated.

We're using the standard install port 1090, and testing from a browser in the same host.

Regards,

Eduardo

Did you add ContentServer.dll to the Web Service Extentions on IIS?

Hello Juan,

Yes, ContentServer.dll was added by sapinst and it is set as 'Allowed'.

The error we get when trying this URL is:

The page cannot be displayed

The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

Additional information:

Looking in the event viewer under application, I see the following 2 errors:

1) The HTTP Filter DLL D:\Program Files\SAP\Content Server\ContentServer.dll failed to load. The data is the error.

Data: 0000: 0000007f

2) Could not load all ISAPI filters for site/service. Therefore startup aborted.

Eduardo

Thats wierd... have you tried to download and replace the file with a fresh one just in case is corrupted in anyway?, Also maybe remove it and add it again to the filter and restart IIS

Yes, I downloaded the latest CS patches available and replaced a few dll's, including that one.

Restating IIS still does not resolve the issue - same issue.

Juan,

What other extensions should be allowed in IIS, besides ContentServer.dll?

Can you also check that the permissions on the physical directory and sub-directories where the content server is installed, allow the IIS user to access those files.

It might also be worth using DependencyWalker http://www.dependencywalker.com/ to check the DLL dependencies.

Darryl,

Yes, checked the permissions on NT folders as well as website; all looks ok; we are now waiting for an IIS re-install to retry the CS installation. Will post after this has been completed. Will look at DependencyWalker if not successfull.

Hello all, just to follow up on the CS issue we had, it has been resolved by reinstalling IIS - not sure what could have been the problem, but CS is now working as expected.

Thanks to all who provided suggestions to resolve this issue.
