Export Transport Request to a File

Former Member

Hi Everyone,

I have a package that contains number of programs and tables and I would like to ship this package to a customer.

I need some help in creating a new transport request that will allow me to export this transport as a file that I can give to

the customer so that they import the transport in easy and fast way.

Thanks

Misbah

Simply add them to the transport and send them the cofile and the datafile.

Thanks Juan for the reply,

can you give me more details please,

first what kind of transport should I create , customizing or workbench ?

and how to send them to the cofile and and datafile ? what transactions or menu commands shall I use.

right now I am working at home on the trial version of SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP

Thanks so much

First, you need to be aware that the version of SAP of your client its the same as the version that you're using.... otherwise that can carry issues...

Create a transport (if Customizing o Workbench is your prerogative) once release in SE09, they'll create a cofile and a datafile locates on /usr/sap/trans/cofile and /usr/sap/trans/data respectively the files will have format of K<transport_number>.<sid> and R<transport_number>.<sid>. Send those files to your customer, they should add those file to the respective folders in their transport directory and then use STMS -> Extras -> Add to add the transport to the queue, then simply import.

ok, I actually tried this but got this exception:

Could not start transport control program tp
Message no. TP608 Diagnosis

There was an attempt to start the transport control program tp using the local RFC interface. An error occurred here.

  Error code: 4
RFC error text: timeout during allocate / CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPCMRCV'

Meaning of the error codes:
  03 RFC system failure
  04 RFC communication failure

System Response
The function terminates. Details about the error can be found in the trace file of the Gateway Monitor (SMGW).

I am so tired at this point, but later I will try to delete the transport request ..I just tried but it seems that I couldnt because there some locked objects I need to delete first somehow.

I appreciate your help will let you know if I got to work.

Hi Juan,

I am up now...

I guess I didn't , is this a completely different step or just a another step that is part of releasing the transport ?

Thanks

Hi all.

I have followed all steps you have explain. But when I have got the request in Import Queue and I click Request --> Import, system show an mistake:

Command: TMS_MGR_IMPORT_TR_REQUEST

Service: Transport Service

Start: Online

Function: TMS_TP_IMPORT

Message: TP_REPORTED_ERROR

Description: Transport control program tp ended with error code 203

Errors: wrong sintax in tp call.

And after:

ERROR: client 'T11' out of range, cllient range is 0 - 999

tp returncode summary:

TOOLS: Highest return code of single steps was: 0

ERRORS: Highest tp internal error was: 0203

Do you know why this error occurs?

Thanks a lot.

Marta.
