ODBC VS OLEDB In Designer

Hi All,

I'm using OLEBD provider for oracle connection in universe.The problem is BO is not fetching all the data from the DB.

If i use the ODBC connection in the same universe its fetching all the data.

What could be the reason for this weird behavior of BO, Please suggest some solution or workarounds.

I dont want to use ODBC connection,i want to get entire data using OLDEB connection only.

Hello Ravichandra,

the ODBC and OLEDB middleware is not supported for Oracle in Universe Designer.

I don't know why you obtain different results but SAP Business Objects never tested that configuration.

To access Oracle from a universe you should use JDBC or the Oracle Net middleware.

Hi PPaolo,

Thanks for your quick response,I'm using Oracle middleware for now and created 70 plus reports but the reports are not fetching entire data from DB.If i change the connection to the ODBC connection then the reports fetch full data.

By changing the Connection to the ODBC all existing reports are throughing some error, to fix them it'll take too much time as the number of reports are many.

Request you to suggest what i have to do now.

Hi,

The problem was fixed by SAP support Professional.

We had to change the Oracle.prm file on the server.
