Connection Error on Server Selection

Hi experts,

We have changed the domain name and IP of the server and now I am trying to connect SAP Client to the server but it is giving me the following error:

Connection failed:

SQL State: '28000'

SQL Server Error: 18456

[Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'VF-MT\krizer'.

Connection failed:

SQLState: 08004'

SQL Server Error: 4060

Server rejected the connection; Access to selected database has been denied.

It only accepts the old server IP address.

I have re-installed SAPB1 Client but I am getting the same error again.

In spite of this, I am still able to connect to SQL Server Studio using the new server name, but not to SAP Client.

Any help please?

Thanks,

vankri

Hi

Try this

[https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/smb_searchnotes/display.htm?note_langu=E&note_numm=0000542000]

Thanks

Actually, I did not change the hostname and IP of the 'live' server, but I created a copy of the server and changed the hostname and IP. The reason for this is because we want to do some testing and created a 'test environment'.

But SAP still wants me to connect using the hostname of the 'live' server.

Hi,

I absolutely disagree if you change the server IP of the SAP server. Why did you change it ?
