What is Exchange profile ? When do we access it in realtime situations ?

Hi Radhika,

Exchange Profile is the area where all the PI parameters are defined. For more details see below link

The exchange profile is very sensitive as changes to exchange profile withour proper support from SAP may lead to malfunction of PI server.

It is accessed by administrators only at the time of particular configurations which will be done through standard SAP documents.

Hi,

At runtime the communication between java stack and ABAP stack will make use of the details like host..username ..pasword..etc will be fetched using the exchange profile parameters..

for e.g Repository details will be fetched from the exchange profile parameters for opening the IR or ID screens...
