Hi Gurus,

I am facing a problem in connecting to OSS from my XI server.

We are having R/3, BW servers and i am able to connect to OSS through them but with XI server i am not able to connect to OSS.

Error Details :

Error opening an RFC connection

ERROR service '?' unknown

Seems like theres missing entries on your services file. Make sure that all required entries for the gateway are available at the services file on your XI box.

t-code and check all the entry present there are correct.

There would be 3 things to check:

1) Compare the input in the RFC destination for the successfull and failed system to make sure nothing was missed, especially service or port numbers.

2) Check the services file on the failed host to see if it has a sapms<SID> entry for the saprouter server

3) Check the saprouttab to make sure outgoing connections are permitted from this server also.
