Dear Gurus,
We have SAP ECC 6 version of SAP up and running in a host. It is Non-unicode and in 32 bit platform. Database is MS-SQL server and OS is Windows. This host also has so many other SAP instances active.
I have to copy the instance SY1 from one server with IP 10.0.0.28 to a new server with IP 10.0.0.32 which is on a 64 bit platform. This target system also has multiple instance already up and running in it.It should also be converted from Non-unicode to Unicode . Can you please guide me on what has to be done to perform this activity? Please let me know the sequence of procedures that needsto be done.
Database is in a different host.
Thanks
LAK

Hi,
As long as you are not changing your OS and database, then you can perform homogeneous system copy.
As a result of this procedure, you can install your system on new host with different ip and during homogeneous system copy you can convert your system to unicode as well.
Please check system copy guide on http://service.sap.com/instguides.
Also, before doing system copy read unicode conversion guide to perform all prerequisites tasks.
Thanks
Sunny
