MDM 5.5 Installation Hardware Requirement

Hello,

I want carry out the installation for MDM 5.5 SP3. I have dowloaded the MDM software from service marketplace site. Can any one tell me the OS & Hardware requirements for the MDM 5.5 Installation ???

I have gone through the PAM for MDM but that seems to be quit confusing to me .

I will be a great help if you could respnd to my posted query with emphasis on following two points:

1) OS Linux - How many bit and What type of H/W Architecture Required for MDM 5.5 ?

2) OS Widows 2000 / 2003 Server - How many bit and What type of H/W Architecture Required for MDM 5.5 ?

Hello,

one small correction of Lev Sigal's posting.

The version for Linux 32 bit available is outdated and general support for Linux32 bit was de-continued as we did not have any customer requests for this OS.

So, the PAM contains the official information on which platforms are supported by MDM.

Sorry for the confusion.

Hi Prem,

The HW requirements may be found in the MDM Sizing Guide in the SAP Market place.

Both for Linux and Windows there are 32 and 64 bit versions.

Accordg to the PAM PPT that you had sent me -- We will not be able to use the Lixux X86 - 32 Bit OR even the Windows - X86 - 32 Bit for our MDM 5.5 SP3 installation.

I am not a DB/OS specialist, but I know that the information slide is updated on a regular basis and gives the current view of supported DB/OS options.

You may touch base with your SAP contact for detailed information.

For MDM SP3 both 32bit Linux and Windows are supported.

Hello But according to the Link for MDM-PAM https://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700003558902005D we can not use Linux 32 bit - X86 & neither Windows X86 Architecture is supported for the same on 32 bit.

So how do u quote that linux and windows 32 bit are supported for SP3

If you go to SAP Marketplace: Support Packages and Patches - Support Packages and Patches - SAP NetWeaver - SAP MDM - SAP MDM 5.5 you'll see that you can download for MDM SERVER 5.5:

AIX5 64bit

HP-UX on PA-RISC 64bit

Linux on IA32 32bit

Linux on Power 64bit

Linux on x86_64 64bit

Solaris on SPARC 64bit

Windows Server on IA32 32bit

Windows Server on x64 64bit

Here is everything that you need. Probably there is some mismatch between PAM and Distribution Center.
