Hi ,

better you use the IP address of server and the path like "
<ip_address>\SAPHelp\PlainHTML\helpdata" . And ensure that the folder SAPHelp is on share.

Hello Ganesh,

Good that it is solved. However still try to make it work with a hostname (try with complete domain name). The problem with IPs that if the hardware gets changed IP also does and then you need to make the changes again.

Try using DNS hostname.

Hello Ganesh,

The part : D:\SAPHelp\ECC6\ECC6 Help - Setup\English\HtmlHelp\HTMLHELP\HELP does not seem to be appropriate. What it means is every user first needs to have a drive D on his desktop (unless and until it is a common shared drive letter) and then of course the help files ought to be placed under this drive as per the path mentioned above.

If "D" is not the common shared drive letter then place the help files under a folder accessible for all and then give the path along with the hostname.

Also only if you would have done a F1 on the the field Path under HtmlHelpFiles you would have known what mistake you were doing. It clearly states:

SIWR: Path for online help

Directory path in which the contents are stored.

The following entry is required depending on the help type:

PlainHtmlHttp: Path without host name

PlainHtmlFile: Path including host name

HtmlHelpFile: Path including host name

Hi Ganesh,

Before configuring the SAP HELP.

Check whether the path which you specify in SR13 is accessable directly to users without using SAP GUI.

for e.g

Forget about SAP , do the below step from users dekstop

--> Goto Start menu ---> Run --> and type the path which you specify in SR13

and check whether user is able access that path.

If yes , then it should work from SAP also.

If no, then your system administrator has to give neccesary rights to your to acces the path where HELP files are DUMP.

thanks

Anil

Hi Ganesh,

Prefix the hostname to the path and then check. Also then you need to remove drive letter D. It is like accessing shared folder across the network.

As said before this documents need to be accessible to all users.... it can't be D:\... because the system does not recognize 😧 as a shared location for obvious reasons... basically you need to create a network share
<server>\<share>.....

Path D:\SAPHelp\ECC6\ECC6 Help - Setup\English\HtmlHelp\HTMLHELP\HELP

I remind you that the path have to be accessible by SAP and the users... check the permissions of the filesystem on that box.

Hello,

Can you recheck the path, it clearly mentions your path is wrong.

You will need to type the correct path for the chm file.

Thank you
